Last Wednesday, I reached a milestone: my 45th birthday!
It feels like a turning point, a moment of reflection where I feel I have reached halfway and at the same time I embark on a new chapter in my life.
My heart overflows with gratitude for every step, every lesson, and every experience I’ve had so far .
Today, I want to share one of the most important decisions in my life with you: the choice to live in a beautiful state.
What does that mean?
It means that amidst everything happening around me, I choose to remain in a beautiful state.
Living in a beautiful state means I continue to cherish positive emotions like love, warmth, joy, gratitude, hope, trust, strength, growth, and connection with everything around me.
It doesn’t mean I am never anxious or always happy.
It means that I become aware of the triggers that take me out of this positive state and actively work on re-establishing the positive connection.
As I practice this, my time outside this state becomes shorter. It’s like a muscle getting stronger because life is too short to stay stuck in things beyond our control.
An example from my life illustrates this.
I used to panic if I couldn’t reach my husband in the evenings when he stayed overnight in our little wooden house in the woods. Now, when this happens, I consciously choose a positive scenario instead of a negative one. He might have fallen asleep, be busy with work, or he might be simply enjoying an evening walk.
This choice protects me from being quickly overwhelmed by stress because stress is often nothing else but fear.
People who are constantly stressed are, in fact, living in constant fear, sometimes without realizing it.
It’s essential to become aware that gratitude is the antidote to fear.
We cannot be anxious and grateful at the same time, just as we cannot be angry and grateful simultaneously. It’s one or the other.
I am grateful that I am increasingly mastering this strength. Because many people unconsciously live primarily in a negative emotional state.
The most developed people I know manage to stay in a positive state for about 80% of the time.
Nobody is exempt from the influence of the world around us, a world marked by wars and conflicts, shortages of basic needs for millions, and the loss of loved ones.
In our lives, there’s always something missing and something to be grateful for.
Today, I invite you to train to live in a beautiful state. Choose the most significant feelings for you and try practicing how to keep experiencing these feelings.
This is the greatest gift you can give yourself and those around you!
It nurtures a positive connection with yourself, protects your health and well-being, and contributes to happy and fulfilling relationships.
