Many people talk about spirituality and spiritual development.
But what is spiritual development and why is it important for us people?
Here is my answer to this question.
In my idea, we people are spiritual beings. We have a body and a soul.
Just as our body needs to be fed, so needs our soul to be fed and nurtured. Inherent in human beings is the need to grow spiritually, to develop, like a tree that grows towards the light of the sun.
Spiritual development to me means developing our qualities and our capacities.
Life never stands still. In nature, everything grows or falls apart. Just like in nature, we people grow spiritually or not, every day.
Depending on the choices we make and the experiences we daily face, we change every day, little step by step.
And I’ve learned in life that when we do not develop our good qualities, then our growth opportunities are increasingly decreasing!
Then our weaknesses are getting stronger!
For example, if we dwell too long in our fear, our need to control others increases. In addition, our distrust grows, we remain in our ratio and we get stuck in overthinking things too much.
Then we lose contact with our emotional life and as a result, the joy in our life becomes less and less, our spontaneity and playfulness also decrease and we become more and more depressed.
We people have all the good and all the bad potential in us.
What we will develop depends on what we pay the most attention to and what choices we make.
If we give too much attention to the negative sides in ourselves (as well as in others), they will grow. When we give our attention to our positive sides and when we notice these in others as well, the positivity will grow.
Because where the attention goes, the energy flows!
Furthermore, I have realized that people who do not succeed in life the way they want to, are too preoccupied with their shortcomings and often project them onto others as well.
This is a spiritual law.
That is why I want to invite you today to look only at the positive side of yourself and others and encourage yourself and others for the good things. Make a list of your good qualities, pick one and try to meditate on how you can develop that quality more in your daily life!
Think about it, or make a picture of it and try to feel what this quality feels like to you. Then follow the movement that comes up in you from here.
I invite you to share with me how you experienced this. I can’t wait to hear from you!
If you can’t figure this out, I invite you to book a free consultation with me via this link and I’ll help you with this.
To your happiness!
